HistWar: Les Grognards June Gallery

SCREENSHOTS FEATURE posted on 25 JUN 2006 by Chris Abele

Napoleon is getting better looking.

Battlefront released a week ago a new gallery of screenshots for the upcoming Napoleonic-era wargame, HistWar: Les Grognards (interview). According to the wargame publisher, this new screenshot gallery contains a huge variety in unit types and accurate uniforms and transmits the massive scope and scale of the era's battles. A selection of the screens have been reproduced below, but the full gallery is available here.

HistWar: Les Grognards is being developed by Jean-Michel Mathé, and will feature tactical and strategic combat in the early 19th century (1805-1814). As the title implies, the game is targetted towards customers with a strong interest in the detail of the era and being involved in the massive battles that defined the era of Napoleon. The game includes the historical battles (Haslach, Austerlitz, Eylau, Friedland, Campaign of Eckmul, Wagram, Moscowa (Borodino), Berezina, Hanau, La Rothière) as well as what-if scenarios from Napoleon's conquest of Europe, with modelling for not only the major nations, but also such smaller city-states like Wurtemberg, Saxony, Poland, Italy, and Naples.

For more information on the game, be sure to check out the official web site. No release date has been set for the game.
