Merscom will publish Auran Games' train simulating goodness.
Merscom has signed on the dotted line today to make themselves the official publisher of Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006 for the PC in North America. Developed by Auran Games, the latest installment in the Trainz franchise - as with all previous flavors of this title - puts players in the engineer's seat. Virtual conductors can design rail systems using over 7,500 scenery objects and drive more than 150 types of locomotives over hundreds of miles of stunning 3D terrain.
The peak of Auran's excitement, however, comes with their design of a new feature called Content Manager Plus. This new asset management utility will allow players to easily access and organize files, in addition to aiding them with downloading content from Auran's download station, which includes over 50,000 assets to keep replayability fresh. Auran also expressed a particular enthusiam about their new tools and rules system that have not only been improved from previous versions of TRS06, but there are also troves of new ways to personalize the game all the while still maintaining its original appeal.
Trainz also went gold today, meaning the game is just a few weeks away from release. For more information on the title, go to VirtualTrainz.com for more information.
